Slating The English game
By Raju • Feb 25th, 2008 • Category: MailboxGod Save the English Football
Emotions that I went through yesterday were intense. But is this exactly unexpected? Did it come out of the blue? No. This was waiting to happen. What do managers tell their players before they meet Arsenal ? “Kick them, hurt them, push them off the ball?”What did the Reading defender ( I forget his name) say before the Reading match ? “I am going to kick Adebayor because that is the only way to control him”.
This is the English game , the “English” attitude. When Arsene complained he was asked to shut up and stop whining.
When teams face Arsenal they first thing on their agenda is to grievously injure the players so that they soften up and stop playing football. And the press, the fans all support it. They say foreigners cannot play “English” football.
Right now its not about winning the PL or titles - its about the right of football players to have a relatively safe career. Football is a rough game , accidents happen but the horror and the savagery has become unbelievable. Players getting rough because they see no other option to stop the opposition.
If this is English football - God help us.

even though english game is relatively more physical.
it allows a chance for other teams(underdogs) a chance to have their own against top teams. they allow good football to be played, the weaker teams always have chance cause the english game allows space . bad tackles like against eduardo and smith are horrific but to curb the physical side altogether would be utter tosh. anyways i like english football more than italian.
but refs should be careful in spotting trouble makers coz.. we have seen many times ronaldo responding to taunts and getting sent off..

This soo called ‘Physical teams’ like Blackburn, Bolton, etc play the game rough bacause they dont have the talent and players to play attractive one touch footy…if yu go down the lower leagues its more Physical..I dont know how many remember how Shefeild United played Arsenal at Home last season? Their captain was literally bullying Van Persie…even feeling his balls than the football!!!
The teams most kicked in the Premeir league are Manchester United and Arsenal…How many times have we seen players kicking Ronaldo?? This is the bane of English football..they dont encourage skills in their academies nor encourage children who have skills..The English game is all about aggressive running..stamina and putting yur foot in first for the tackle..
As always..the English have now realised this after its starting to bite their back sides..and have started encouraging futsal in their academies..so there will be some skill involved in their game!!!
Lets wait for another 5years…and we may see a change in English football..and the quality of the game will improve. But it wont be because of the emerging talent in England…but because of the Ronaldos, Nanis & Andersons coming in from abroad!!!
